Calexico

City in Imperial County, southern California, USA, at the Mexican border, 14 km/9 mi south-southeast of El Centro; population (1990) 18,600. It is a port of entry from its sister city, the much larger Mexicali (Baja California), Mexico, and a trade centre for the fruit, cotton, and vegetable producers of the southern Imperial Valley.

It has a reputation for raucous night life.
