Calhoun County

County in south-central Michigan, USA; area 1,844 sq km/712 sq mi; population (1990) 136,000. It is drained by the Kalamazoo and St Joseph rivers and Battle Creek. Its seat is Marshall. With manufacturing at Battle Creek (where there is suburban development), Albion, and Marshall, it is mostly an agricultural region that raises livestock, grain, and fruit, and makes dairy products.
