Callanish

Village on the Isle of Lewis, in the Outer Hebrides group, Western Isles unitary authority, Scotland, situated on the east shore of East Loch Roag, 25 km/16 mi west of Stornoway. The megalithic standing stones of Callanish are regarded as one of the most impressive prehistoric monuments in Britain.

The monument features an alignment of parallel stones culminating at one end in a circle, which contains a large stone cairn and is intersected by a cross.
