Callington

Market town in Cornwall, England; population (2001) 4,800. It is situated 16 km/10 mi south of Launceston and 14 km/9 mi northwest of the New Tamar Bridge at Saltash. Granite from the extensive quarries in Callington was used in the construction of the Thames Embankment, Blackfriars Bridge, and Battersea Bridge, London.
