Calverton

Residential suburb in Montgomery and Prince George's Counties, central Maryland, USA, on Interstate 95, 21 km/13 mi northeast of Washington, DC; population (1990) 12,000.

Calverton

Town in Riverhead town, Suffolk County, southeastern New York, USA, in east-central Long Island; population (1990) 4,800. It is the site of Calverton National Cemetery (opened 1978), a 365 ha/900 ac facility in the Pine Barrens.

The government plans to close the cemetery to further burials in 2020, at which time Calverton will be the largest National Cemetery.
