Calzaghe, Joe

    0.17 sec.

Calzaghe, Joe (1972– )

Welsh boxer. He won the vacant WBO world super-middleweight title in October 1997 with a points victory over Chris Eubank. By November 2007, he had made his 2ist successful defence of the title.

In March 2006, he won the IBF super-middleweight title with a points win over Jeff Lacy, but he had to relinquish the title belt later that year when he chose to defend his WBO title rather than his IBF one. In April 2008 he extended his unbeaten record to 45 with a points victory over Bernard Hopkins.
