Camden County

County in southwestern New Jersey, USA, on the Delaware River; area 578 sq km/223 sq mi; population (1990) 502,800. Its seat is Camden. This industrial city and many residential suburbs, such as Cherry Hill and Haddonfield, occupy the northwestern part of the county. Major municipalities in its centre are Marlton and Lindenwold. Dotted with small towns, much of the southeast of the county is agricultural.
