camerata

A group of intellectuals meeting for cultural exchanges, in particular one at Florence under Count Giovanni de' Bardi in about 1573–87 and strongly influenced by Girolamo Mei's research into ancient Greek music. The earliest operas seem to have emerged from their deliberations.

The El Camino Real High School Camerata Chamber Choir performed at the Feb.
At the University of Arizona's Camerata Center for Musical Entrepreneurship, Gwen Powell explained, "Camerata has three tenets: Careers in Music class (juniors, seniors and graduate students), Independent Study in Music Business and Camerata Internships.
The second act takes place in medieval times, with marvelous music by the Boston Camerata.
