Cameron

Community in southwestern Louisiana, USA, near the mouth of the Calcasieu River on the Gulf of Mexico, 48 km/30 mi south-southwest of Lake Charles; seat of Cameron Parish; population (2000) 2,000. It is an offshore oil industry service town and one of the busiest US seafood handling ports.
