Capitoline Hill

The most important of the seven hills on which ancient Rome was built. It formed the citadel, or stronghold, and on it stood temples to both Jupiter Supreme and Concord.

The Capitoline Temple was begun by Tarquinius Piscus, and dedicated 509 BC.
