Camras, Marvin

Camras, Marvin (1916–1995)

US electrical engineer and inventor. He developed a successful wire recorder in the 1930s and received some 500 patents in the field of electronic communications. His inventions are used in magnetic tape recorders, motion picture sound equipment, and videotape recording.

Born in Chicago, he had a long career at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
