Cango

Town in Western Cape province, South Africa, about 27 km/17 mi north of Oudtshoorn. It is famous for its caves, where some of the finest stalactites and stalagmites in the world are to be seen. The explored section extends for 3 km/1.8 mi through 80 caverns.

The caves were discovered in 1780, and are said to have inspired Rider Haggard's book, King Solomon's Mines.
