Canis Major

Brilliant constellation of the southern hemisphere, represented (with Canis Minor) as one of the two dogs following at the heel of Orion. Its main star, Sirius, is the brightest star in the night sky.

Epsilon Canis Majoris is also of the first magnitude, and there are three second magnitude stars.
