Canosa di Puglia

Town in Apulia region, southeast Italy, 65 km/40 mi west of Bari, above the River Ofanto; population (1991) 31,200. Known under the Greeks and Romans for its pottery, the town is today an agricultural centre. The cathedral, consecrated in 1101, is partly 11th-century; outside it is the tomb of Bohemund I, a leader in the First Crusade. The site of the Battle of Cannae of 216 BC is 10 km/6 mi to the northeast.

For one thing, the whole film is told exclusively in split screen, with the actors - Aaron Eckhart and Helena Bonham Carter - staying more or less on their respective sides, though director Canosa makes some allowances for movement.
