Cape, Safford (1906–1973)

US conductor and musicologist. In 1933 he founded the Pro Musica Antiqua, for the performance of medieval and Renaissance music, in Brussels, Belgium. He made many recordings for the Anthologie Sonore and History of European Music in Sound, and established the European Seminar on Early Music at Bruges, Belgium, and Lisbon, Portugal, in 1961.
