Capello, Fabio (1946– )| Italian footballer and football manager. As a player, he won major trophies with Roma, Juventus, and AC Milan and represented Italy 32 times, scoring eight goals. As a coach, he won league championships in Italy and Spain and also led AC Milan to victory in the UEFA Champions League in 1994. One of the most successful managers in club football, he became known for his tough, disciplinarian approach and his willingness to ignore the reputations of star players and pick his teams based on form alone. In January 2008, he became manager of the England national team. |

| Capello made his professional debut for Spal 1907 as a midfielder in 1964. Three years later he moved to Roma, where he won the Italian Cup. In 1970 he was transferred to Juventus where he won three league titles in four years. He finished his playing career at AC Milan where he won a fourth league title and a second Italian Cup. In 1991 he became manager of AC Milan, winning four league championships and a Champions League title in six years. He won a fifth Italian league title in 2001 with Roma, and two Spanish championships in two separate spells with Real Madrid. He also finished both the 2004–05 and 2005–06 seasons at the top of Serie A with Juventus, but the titles were later removed after a match-fixing scandal came to light. |
