Cappuccilli, Piero (1929– )

Italian baritone. He made his debut in Milan in 1957, and sang at La Scala from 1964. His New York Metropolitan Opera House debut was in 1960, as Germont. He appeared at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, from 1967, as Renato, Iago, and Boccanegra, and sang Posa at Salzburg in 1975. He sang in Chicago from 1969, and was Boccanegra at Barcelona in 1990.
