CapriItalian island at the southern entrance of the Bay of Naples; 32 km/20 mi south of Naples; area 13 sq km/5 sq mi; population (1987 est) 7,800. It has two towns, Capri and Anacapri, a profusion of flowers, beautiful scenery, and an ideal climate. The Blue Grotto on the north coast is an important tourist attraction.
