Cardross

Coastal village in Argyll and Bute unitary authority, Scotland, on the Firth of Clyde, 6 km/4 mi northwest of Dumbarton; population (2001) 1,900. It is chiefly a residential settlement.

Robert (I) the Bruce died in Cardross Castle in 1329; no trace of the fortification remains.
