Carinaria

Genus of pelagic (open ocean) gastropod mollusc found in tropical seas and the Mediterranean. The shell is shiny, small, and conical; the foot is long and the visceral sac is small. C. mediterranea is a common species.

Carinaria is in subclass Prosobranchia, class Gastropoda of phylum Mollusca.
