    0.02 sec.

Carinus, Marcus Aurelius (c. AD 249–285)

Roman emperor from 283 AD. He was given command of the western provinces of the empire by his father, the emperor Marcus Aurelius Carus. Having won some successes against German tribes, he handed over command to his legates and went to Rome. On the death of Carus he became joint emperor with his brother Numerian, but in the following year he was assassinated by his own officers during a battle against the future emperor Diocletian on the River Margus, in Moesia.
