Cary, Tristram (Ogilvie) (1925–2008)

English composer. He was a pioneer in the performance of electronic music in Britain and has experimented with the concept of environmental sound; he founded his own electronic studio and was an influential teacher at the Royal College of Music, London. He was appointed dean at Adelaide University, Australia, in 1982. His works include the cantata Peccata mundi (first performed in Cheltenham, England, 1972) and stage and film music.
