In a recent informal MPIWeb poll, nearly 70 percent of respondents said their organization does not have a contingency plan for meetings and events in case of war.
Disapproval of the bellicose intentions of the United States toward Iraq turns up not only in opinion polls in France, Germany, and Belgium, but in the controversial stance those countries have taken within NATO in refusing to plan for the defense of Turkey in case of war.
Instead their meeting, and Sharon's meetings the next day with Bush's top security advisers, focused primarily on plans for Israel and the United States to cooperate in case of war with Iraq.
