Caspe

Town in the province of Zaragoza, northwest Spain, near the confluence of the Guadalope and Ebro rivers; population (1991) 8,000. Its castle was the scene of the Compromise of Caspe in 1410, when the delegates of Aragón, Catalonia, and Valencia chose Ferdinand of Antequera as king (Ferdinand I of Aragón).
