Casquets

Group of rocks in the English Channel, 11 km/7 mi northwest of Alderney. They are marked by a lighthouse as they would otherwise be dangerous to navigate; in 1744 the Victory, and in 1899 the Stella, were wrecked here.

The ship was wrecked off the island of Alderney near rocks called the Casquets, a renowned graveyard for sailing ships.
An hour later the lookout sighted rocks ahead and heard the foghorn on the Casquets lighthouse.
