Cass County

County in eastern North Dakota, USA; area 4,577 sq km/1,767 sq mi; population (1990) 102,900. The county is bordered by the Red River of the North and the Minnesota state line, and drained by the Sheyenne, Rush, and Maple rivers. Its seat is Fargo, which influences the economy of North Dakota's most populous county. Most of Cass County is a rich agricultural area.
