Cassina

Italian furniture-manufacturing company, established 1923, based in Meda, Italy. Cassina moved from craft to mass production after 1945 and successfully sold modern design to a sophisticated international niche market, using designers such as Franco Albini (1905–1979), Gio Ponti (1891–1979), and Vico Magistretti. Ponti's ‘Superleggera’ chair 1957 was among the most successful of Cassina's products.
