Cassiterides

The ‘Tin Islands’, a group of islands first mentioned by the Greek historian Herodotus as the place where the Phoenicians exchanged their wares for tin. The islands were to the northwest of Spain and have been most plausibly identified with the Scilly Isles and Cornwall, or (more generally) the British Isles. Others have suggested various small islands off the Spanish coast.
