Tulnally Castle, 2 km/1 mi to the west, is the residence of Lord Longford; the Longfords were active in Dublin's literary and theatrical society and the house is mentioned under its former name (until 1961) of Pakenham Hall in the memoirs of the 18th-century novelist Maria Edgeworth. |
