Castlereagh

Administrative region on the eastern coast of Northern Ireland, serving an area in the north of County Down; area 85 sq km/33 sq mi; population (2001) 55,000. The towns under the council's remit include Belfast (the east of the city, including several large new areas of housing which have developed to the east and southeast of Belfast), Carryduff, and Dundonald. The principal sources of employment include mechanical engineering, aeronautical engineering, information technology, the communications industry, and the service sector.
