Cathedral City

City in Riverside County, southern California, USA, on the Whitewater River, in the Coachella Valley, 10 km/6 mi southeast of Palm Springs; population (1990) 30,000. Named after Cathedral Canyon to the south, it is a rapidly growing desert retirement and residential community.
