Catulus, Quintus Lutatius (c. 152-87 BC)

Roman general and consul with Marius 102 BC. The united armies of Catulus and Marius defeated the Cimbri (a Germanic tribe) 101, but Catulus grew to resent Marius's reputation and later joined Sulla in the civil war. He was among those condemned by Marius 87 BC and he committed suicide.
