Francis Xavier, a settlement of Indians in Canada, also named Caughnawaga (Kahnawake, Quebec) populated by Mohawk people who were much more accepting of Christianity. In 1679, she visited a convent in nearby Ville-Marie (now Montreal) and was so impressed with the way the nuns lived their lives that on her return to Caughnawaga she asked to set up her own convent. EPSOM trainer Philip Mitchell has warned that his Caughnawaga will not run in the Freephone Stanleybet Lincoln. |
