Caurroy, (François) Eustache du Sieur de Saint-Frémin (1549–1609)

French composer. He went to Paris around 1569 as a singer in a royal chapel, where he became master of the children in 1583. He became a canon in the Sainte-Chapelle and the title of Surintendant de la Musique du Roy was created for him in 1599.

Works

Requiem, motets, psalms, noëls, two books of Preces ecclesiasticae; instrumental fantasies on sacred and secular tunes, etc.
