Cecil County

County in the northeastern corner of Maryland, USA; area 932 sq km/360 sq mi; population (1990) 71,300. Cecil County is at the head of Chesapeake Bay, bounded to the south by the Sassafras River, to the east by Delaware, to the west by the Susquehanna River, and to the north by Pennsylvania. Elkton is its seat. It has some manufacturing at Elkton, agriculture, commercial fishing, and quarrying.
