Town in Stephenson County, northwestern Illinois, USA, 8 km/5 mi north of Freeport; population (1990) 751. It is an agricultural town.

Cedarville is the birthplace of social reformer Jane Addams (1860).

Town in Greene County, southwestern Ohio, USA, 18 km/11 mi south of Springfield; population (1990) 3,200.

Growing slowly since settlement (1805), the population received a substantial boost in 1832 when the entire congregation of the Covenanter Church of Chester, South Carolina, moved here. It is the seat of Cedarville College (1887).
