Ceduna

Town on the Eyre Peninsula of South Australia, 780 km/485 mi northwest of Adelaide; population (1996) 2,600. Fishing and oyster farming support the cereal crop and sheep grazing industries. The town is now the most important service centre for the surrounding agricultural industry.

Located on Murat Bay, Ceduna developed as a cereal growing and sheep grazing area in the 1890s. The town was founded in 1896 and was called Murat Bay until 1915. A railway linking Ceduna and Port Lincoln was opened in 1915.
