Celje

Town in Slovenia, on the River Savinja; population (2002) 37,500. It is a zinc-smelting and metallurgical centre. It was founded by the Romans as Claudia Celea, and retains its medieval walls.

Peacefully at home with all her family around her, on Thursday 27th August 2009, aged 71 years, Celeia, adored mam of Karen and Julie, mother in law to John and Stephen, worshipped nana of Joseph, Marie, Thomas and Alice, much loved daughter of Mary, treasured sister of Maureen and John.
