Central Falls

City in Providence County, eastern Rhode Island, USA, adjoining Pawtucket to the northwest, on the Blackstone River, between Valley Falls and Pawtucket Falls; population (1990) 17,600. One of the lower Blackstone Valley textile mill towns that boomed in the 19th century, it has now lost most of its industrial base.

Occupying an area of only 3.29 sq km/1.27 sq mi, Central Falls claims to be the smallest city in the USA.
