Cererols, Joan (1618–1676)

Spanish composer and musician. He joined the monastery at Montserrat as a choirboy, became a novice in 1636, and remained there until his death as director of music. His works are often for double chorus and include a Missa de batalla, for 12 voices, two Requiems, a Magnificat, and the antiphon Alma redemptoris mater.
