| Cerumen is a mixture of secretions produced by the sebaceous and ceruminous glands and substances such as desquamated epithelial cells, shed hairs, and foreign bodies. The accumulated cerumen is made up of a mixture of keratin debris and the secretory products of the ceruminous and sebaceous glands in the external auditory canal. Common primary neoplasms of the external auditory canal include ceruminous adenoma, adenoid cystic carcinoma, ceruminous adenocarcinoma, and pleomorphic adenoma. |
