resistance to change

In-built opposition to change within an organization. Resistance to change is said to be a natural human reaction to the unknown. Employees are inevitably more comfortable with the status quo. Implementing change in an organization requires careful management. It may even require bringing in external consultants to provide the catalyst to effect the change. In this case, any resentment from employees will not be directed at the management once the process is completed. The process will need to be explained fully and it should be made quite clear what the company's objectives are.
