Chanhassen

City in Carver and Hennepin Counties, east-central Minnesota, USA, on the Minnesota River, 24 km/15 mi southwest of Minneapolis; population (1990) 11,700. Chanhassen is a suburban residential community.

It is the site of the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Among many local lakes, the largest is Lake Minnewashta.
