Channel Dash

In World War II, the escape of three German warships through British and French waters to Germany 1942.

The battle cruisers Gneisenau and Scharnhorst and the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen sailed from Brest 12 February 1942, through the English Channel and North Sea to the security of the Elbe River.
