Charadriiformes

Order of ploverlike birds, comprising several hundreds of species with various habits. The group is subdivided into three suborders: Charadrii (plovers, oyster catchers, snipe, woodcock), Lari (gulls, terns, skuas), and Alcae (auks, guillemots, razorbills, puffins).
