James, Charles (1880–1928)

English-born US chemist. He emigrated to the USA in about 1906 and was associated with New Hampshire College in Durham for 22 years. He did extensive research of rare-earth elements, such as cerium, terbium, and yttrium between 1907 and 1926.

He was born at Earls Barton, England.
