Cheadle

Market town in Staffordshire, England, 16 km/10 mi east of Stoke-on-Trent; population (2001) 12,200. The Hawksmoor Nature Reserve lies 3 km/2m to the east of Cheadle. The Roman Catholic church of St Giles, designed by A W N Pugin, was built in 1846; it has a spire 61 m/200 ft in height.
