Chelmsford, Frederic Augustus Thesiger, 2nd Baron (1827–1905)

English general. After serving in the Indian Mutiny and taking part in the capture of Magdala, he was made an aide-de-camp to Queen Victoria. He routed the Zulus under their king, Cetewayo, at Ulundi, South Africa, in 1879, and was lieutenant of the Tower of London 1884–89.

He joined the Rifle Brigade in 1844, became an ensign in 1854, and a general in 1888.
