Cheyne-Stokes respiration
| A cyclical pattern of respiration in which the breathing becomes slower, stops for some seconds and then speeds up before slowing again. It is associated with depression of the respiratory centre in the brain. It is seen in severe heart failure and particularly in patients in coma. |
