Chevy Chase

Residential suburb in Montgomery County, central Maryland, USA, on the northwestern boundary of Washington, DC; population (1990) 8,600.

On the site of an estate known as Chevy Chase (1690–1761), it includes the town of Chevy Chase (population (1990) 2,700), and several villages. Bethesda is to the northwest. The neighbouring residential section of Washington, DC, (to the southeast) is also called Chevy Chase.
